February 2010
Dear Community Cultural Center Members,
Thank you for taking the time to read this letter and to look over last year’s Annual Report. We feel it’s important for our members to know what has been accomplished over the past year here at the center. It’s always amazing to look at the summation of what has taken place, knowing that we’ve all had a hand in making it happen. Just by being a member you help -- with your dues, with your encouragement, with your input and your numbers. There is no doubt that the Community Cultural Center would not be here without you and your support.
Last year was a good year, but definitely had its challenges. Having the back room out of commission for so long was certainly not planned, but that’s how it turned out. We made do and lived with it, but it did cut into a lot of building usage. That however, is going to change soon. We are very close to being able to hire a contractor for the back room renovation, and then will be back to our old selves, only better. Thanks so much for being patient, folks – it’s been a long haul, I know. Thank you for sticking it out with us and for your continued support through it all.
Even though there were fewer events last year we served considerably more people. That says a lot. More and more people are learning about the CCC, more are joining, and more participate in the events we offer. Along with the increase in numbers is a remarkable increase in our volunteers. Not only do we have a full Board of Directors, there are many additional volunteers, committee members and active members – more than we’ve had in years. That goes to show that the CCC has truly become a significant part of the community.
Here at the CCC we’re always looking out for new and exciting ways to help enrich the North Okanogan. There’s lots in store for you in the months to come – music, dances, meals, kids’ activities, classes, workshops, films, festivals and bazaars. As members you can proudly claim ownership to one of the most vital organizations in the entire region.
Thank you for your membership and thank you for your support. It’s encouraging to know that together, we truly are making a difference.
Yours,
River Jones, Executive Director
